"Grounded" Shiraz Mataro
Region: Barossa Valley
Vintage: 2018
Bottles: 799 produced
Named ‘Grounded’ after the piece of art recreated on the label, this wine is part of our Recovery Project. We hand selected one barrel of Shiraz and one barrel of Mataro, blending them to create a wine of renewal.
Made by renowned winemaker Rolf Binder from old vine vineyards, this wine is a classic example of what refined power the Barossa can produce. The dark and rich Shiraz characters are enhanced by the structure and mouthfeel of the Mataro. A wine to impress.

Review: | A medium-bodied old vine blend made by Barossa winemaker Rolf Binder. It greets you with the kind of aromas that hit when you walk into a nonna's kitchen. Charcuterie and black peppercorns followed by mulberry and compote flavours and a whisper of tannin. It begs for charred meats and a long, lazy afternoon. Bottoms Up. 95 Points | Seductively complex, the bouquet shows dark plum, spiced cherry, vanilla, cedar and dried herb notes, followed by a wonderfully flavoursome palate that's ample and lingering. It's beautifully textured by fleshy mouthfeel and silky tannins, offering terrific drinking. |
