Region: Mclaren Vale
This small batch Zinfandel (also known as Primitivo) demonstrates the powerful character of the Mclaren Vale. Ripe dark fruit dominate with some mid palate lifted spice which adds interest and complexity. The wine was matured in older barrels for 12 months so the oak component is subdued, providing structure.
This wine shows what wonderful winemaking diversity the Mclaren Vale has and is one of our favourite dinner wines when entertaining international guests.
It’s sweetly fruited and perfumed on the nose showing Black Doris plum, mulberry, tapenade and spicy oak characters, leading to a wonderfully weighted palate that’s fleshy and silky. It’s gorgeously flavoursome with a persistent expansive finish.
