1836 Cabernet Sauvignon
Grown on the rich red soils of the Coonawarra, this is a favourite wine for when wine lovers gather and the 2018 release shines for its ripeness and drinkability. The long ripening period meant the grapes arrived at the winery in peak condition, were open fermented and pressed before maturing in oak for 18 months.
Vibrant blackcurrant fruits on the nose and palate backed up by subtle oak characters that help lengthen the flavour. Some classic mint and herb characters build interest but it is the fruit that is the real hero.
Enjoy as we do with weber cooked lamb.
Offering fabulous ripe fruit aromas of blackcurrant and dark cherry on the nose with seductive nuances of tobacco, vanilla and cedar. The palate displays succulent fruit intensity and wonderfully silky mouthfeel, classically structured by chalky tannins, making it firm and sturdy with a lengthy refined finish. Splendidly styled and attractive.
